Narmadapuram and its surrounding locations will be seen on cinema screens across the country with the release of The Narmada Story.
The film has been shot predominantly in Narmadapuram district, with several prominent locations, including local ghats, government offices, the bus stand and Tawa Dam, featured in the storyline. The makers have retained the original names of the locations shown in the film.
A key highlight of the film is the appearance of IPS officer Simala Prasad in a prominent police officer’s role. The cast also includes several well-known actors from the Hindi film industry.
The story centres on an Adivasi woman’s struggle to protect her daughter and seek justice against influential individuals. A police officer supports her fight, forming the core of the narrative.
Directed by Jagam Imam, the film was shot over nearly 40 days across different parts of the district. Local actor Sharad Singh also plays an important role in the film.
The film is expected to bring national attention to Narmadapuram’s locations and cultural landscape through its extensive on-location shooting.
