INDORE: The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) carried out two separate drives on Tuesday. It removed an alleged encroachment from municipal garden land and cleared part of an unsafe building before the monsoon.
In the first drive, civic officials removed an alleged illegal structure built on land meant for a municipal garden in the Chhota Bangarda area. The action was taken after a complaint and an inquiry by the civic body.
The team, with police support and JCB machines, removed the structure.
In the second drive, the civic body removed the unsafe upper part of a house in the Chhoti Gwaltoli area. Two rooms and a balcony were taken down by hand to avoid any danger.
As a safety step, shops below the building were closed before the work began.
The civic body said both drives were completed without any protest. Officials said such action against unsafe buildings and alleged encroachments will continue across the city before the monsoon.
