INDORE: A young woman was injured after being allegedly attacked with a blade and a glass bottle by three women over an old rivalry in Indore’s MIG area, police said.
The incident took place late on Saturday night. The victim sustained injuries to her face, hand and head and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case against the three accused and launched an investigation.
According to police, the victim was at a café with two friends when the accused approached her and confronted her over a previous dispute. An argument broke out between the two sides and soon turned violent.
The victim alleged that one of the accused slashed her face and hand with a blade, while another struck her on the head with a glass bottle, causing multiple injuries.
People present at the spot intervened and rescued the victim before she was shifted to hospital.
Police said preliminary investigation suggests the dispute stemmed from an earlier altercation involving a friend of the victim. The victim alleged that the accused attacked her as an act of revenge linked to that incident.
A case has been registered against the three accused under relevant legal provisions. Further investigation is in progress.
