Dewas: Three workers were killed and multiple others were injured in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in the Tonk Kalan area of Dewas district on Thursday morning, officials said.
The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. when workers were engaged in manufacturing-related activities inside the factory premises. Officials said the explosion was severe, causing extensive damage to the structure. Human remains were reportedly found scattered at some distance from the blast site.
Police identified the deceased as Dheeraj, Sunny and Sumit. Around 15–20 workers were believed to be present inside the unit at the time of the explosion, they said.
Among the injured, 13 are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred to hospitals in Indore for advanced treatment. Other injured persons are undergoing treatment in Dewas, while some have been admitted to MY Hospital and Choithram Hospital, officials added.
