The 10-km run will begin at 6:30 am, followed by the 5-km run at 6:40 am and the 2-km run at 6:50 am. The marathon route will pass through major roads and junctions, including Roshanpura Square, Banganga Square, Polytechnic Square, Kilol Park Square, Retghat, Karbala Pump House and Koh-e-Fiza Square, before returning to TT Nagar Stadium.

To ensure the smooth movement of runners, heavy vehicles, public transport buses and permit vehicles will not be allowed on the marathon route between 5 am and 9 am.

Traffic police said vehicle movement would also be diverted, depending on traffic conditions, on roads connecting Bharat Mata Square, Jawahar Chowk, Smart Road, Atal Path, VIP Road, Retghat and Lalghati.

Passengers travelling to Raja Bhoj Airport from the new city have been advised to use the alternative route via 1250 Quarter, Thandi Sadak, Control Room Tiraha, Lily Talkies, Talaiya, Budhwara, Moti Masjid, Royal Market, Collectorate and Lalghati to avoid delays.

Similarly, commuters travelling towards Sehore and Indore should take the route through Mata Mandir, MANIT, Nehru Nagar Square, Bhadbhada Square, Neelbad and Khajuri Road.

“Citizens are requested to follow the traffic advisory and cooperate with police personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of the marathon and safe movement of participants,” the Bhopal Traffic Police said in its advisory.

Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys in advance and use the suggested diversion routes during the event.
