INDORE: A property businessman was found dead near a well behind a Hanuman temple in the Khudel area near Indore, police said. Officers suspect he died by suicide after allegedly consuming poison. A handwritten note was recovered from the scene, and an investigation is underway.
According to police, the man left home and later sent messages to some friends saying he was unable to repay his debt. After receiving the messages, his friends tried to contact him and began searching for him. His body was later found near the temple.
Police said the handwritten note appeared to state that he had taken the step on his own and requested that his family should not be troubled. The note also reportedly said that debt was the reason for his decision. Police are verifying the contents of the note as part of the investigation.
According to police and media reports, the businessman had borrowed money to buy land, expecting property prices to rise. However, prices did not increase as expected, leaving him under financial pressure.
Police are examining the handwritten note and other documents. The investigation is continuing, and the exact circumstances of the death will be confirmed after the inquiry is completed.
