RATLAM : Two men were killed and another injured after a dispute during a wedding procession turned violent in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district, according to media reports.
The incident occurred late May 3 in the GRP Old Railway Quarter area, where an argument reportedly began over jostling while dancing to DJ music. The situation was initially brought under control but escalated around 11:30 p.m. when the accused, identified as Munna Khandkar and Rohit Khandkar, allegedly returned with associates and attacked the victims.
Anand Rawat and Shahbaz Khan, also known as Ashu, were fatally stabbed, while Piyush Rawat suffered head injuries after being hit with a brick. Family members said Anand and Shahbaz were not directly involved in the initial dispute and were trying to intervene.
Despite being injured, Shahbaz reportedly drove about 1.5 km on a motorcycle to take Anand to a hospital. He collapsed after learning of Anand’s death and later succumbed to his injuries. Doctors said both victims had severe internal injuries.
A case has been registered against the accused, who are also undergoing treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
