A woman allegedly assaulted a man on a busy road in Indore late on Tuesday after accusing him of harassment. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, prompting a police inquiry.
The incident took place near Aastha Talkies in the city’s MIG area. According to police, two men on a motorcycle were allegedly under the influence of alcohol when they came into contact with the woman. Officers said the motorcycle reportedly came too close to her, and the men allegedly used abusive language.
Following the incident, the woman confronted one of the men and allegedly beat him on the roadside. The viral video shows the man apologising while being assaulted. A crowd gathered at the scene, and several bystanders recorded the incident on their mobile phones.
Some social media posts claimed that the man’s clothes were removed during the altercation. However, police have not officially confirmed this claim.
Police said no formal complaint has been filed by either party. An inquiry has been launched based on the viral video to establish the facts and determine whether any offences were committed.
Authorities have taken preventive legal action against the two men. Further action will be taken if the investigation finds evidence of any criminal offence.
