iPhone 18 Pro Goes On Sale In India, Buyers Queue Up

New Delhi: Long queues were reported outside Apple stores in several Indian cities as sales of the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max began, according to media reports.

The two Pro models are available through Apple’s online store and six retail outlets in India.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are available in black, silver, glacier and a new burgundy finish. The phones feature a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with variable aperture and new Pro camera controls. They are powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and feature a new vapour chamber designed to improve performance and battery life.

In Maharashtra, one customer told media that he had waited around 10 to 12 hours to get the first phone.

In Bengaluru, a customer identified as Rahul said he had arrived at around 5 am and described the annual iPhone launch as a “festival”. He said he had been buying iPhones since the iPhone 7.

In Noida, another buyer said he had been waiting in the queue since 6 am and managed to collect an iPhone 18 Pro Max. He said he had previously used an iPhone 13 and considered the new phone an upgrade.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900 for the 256GB model. Prices rise to Rs 3,14,900 for the 2TB version.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900 for the 256GB variant, while the 2TB model is priced at Rs 3,29,900.

Apple has also introduced AirPods 5, along with the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.

The company is also preparing to launch the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, in India. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on October 16, with sales expected to start on October 23, according to the report.
