BHOPAL : The Madhya Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved outlays totalling Rs 38,555 crore for infrastructure, agriculture, technology and social welfare, and cleared the formation of a State Traders’ Welfare Board to institutionalise engagement with the trading community.

Chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, the meeting accorded the largest share — Rs 32,405 crore — to road construction, upgradation of rural connectivity and maintenance of government housing for the 2026–2031 period under the 16th Finance Commission framework, according to an official statement.
In the agriculture sector, the cabinet sanctioned Rs 2,442.04 crore for the “Pulses Self-Reliance Mission” to be implemented over five years from April 1, 2026. The programme targets expansion of acreage, productivity gains and wider adoption of climate-resilient seed varieties. It also provides for strengthening post-harvest systems, including processing, storage and packaging infrastructure.

Approvals worth Rs 1,295.52 crore were granted for electronics manufacturing clusters and information technology initiatives. These include development of an electronics cluster in Bhopal, continuation of IT investment promotion schemes and expansion of the State Wide Area Network to improve connectivity across administrative levels. Training of government personnel under e-governance programmes will also be scaled up.
The cabinet further cleared Rs 2,412 crore for construction of new anganwadi centres and implementation of Mission Vatsalya under the integrated child protection framework. The plan includes 1,500 new centres and enhanced services for children in need of care, covering nutrition, shelter and rehabilitation.
In a policy measure aimed at addressing trade-related issues, the cabinet approved the constitution of a State Traders’ Welfare Board. The body will include representation from key departments, financial institutions and industry bodies, and is expected to meet quarterly, with district-level committees convening every month.
Officials said the decisions are intended to sustain growth momentum while strengthening service delivery and economic activity across sectors.
