Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh’s State Shooting Academy is among the finest in the world, State Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang said on Saturday while inaugurating the 24th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship in the city.
Addressing athletes and officials at the academy, Sarang said the state has emerged as a leading sporting hub due to sustained policy support and investments in infrastructure under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The academy is equipped with world-class facilities and modern technology, enabling athletes to train at the highest level. Players from Madhya Pradesh are consistently delivering strong performances in national and international competitions,” he said.
Highlighting the potential of shooting as a sport in the state, the minister said athletes from Madhya Pradesh have made their mark at major global events, including the Olympics and Asian Games, enhancing the state’s sporting profile.
Sarang also interacted with participants from across the country and extended his best wishes for the championship.
Later, he chaired a review meeting with senior officials of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department at the academy, focusing on upcoming initiatives, including the summer training programme ‘Aaroh-2026’. He directed officials to ensure effective implementation of planned activities.
Senior officials, including department director Anshuman Yadav, were present at the meeting.
