BHOPAL: A college student was robbed at knifepoint in Smart City Park in the Shyamla Hills area of Bhopal, police said on Monday.
According to police, the incident took place on Sunday night when the student was sitting in the park with a female friend. Two men allegedly approached them carrying a knife. Fearing for her safety, the student asked his friend to leave the area.
The suspects then allegedly threatened the student with the knife, assaulted him and robbed him of about Rs 2,000 in cash and a pair of earphones. They also forced him to transfer around Rs 1,200 to their account through a digital payment application.
The victim later reported the incident to police, who launched an investigation based on the description provided.
Police identified the suspects and arrested both within 12 hours of the complaint. A case has been registered under relevant sections related to robbery, and further investigation is underway.
Police are also questioning the accused to determine whether they were involved in any other criminal incidents.
