BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will distribute e-scooters to more than 7,500 meritorious Class 12 students under the Mukhyamantri Scooty Yojana on Sept 16.
The state-level programme will be held at Government Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School in Bhopal from 10 am. The scheme aims to encourage academic excellence and support students pursuing higher education by making daily travel to and from college easier.
Students who secure at least 70% marks in Class 12 in their first attempt and stand first in their school are eligible for the scheme. It covers regular students of government higher secondary schools under the School Education and Tribal Affairs departments, across all streams.
For the 2025-26 academic session, more than 7,500 eligible students across Madhya Pradesh will receive e-scooters.
More than 23,000 students have benefited from the scheme so far, while the state government has spent around Rs 246 crore on its implementation.
The government says the initiative is helping recognise meritorious students, encourage better academic performance and support greater participation in higher education.
