Shastri shared a photo of Modi with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping while planting a sapling at Bharat Mandapam.
He said the moment made him proud as an Indian and praised Modi’s international diplomacy.
The 18th BRICS Summit is being held in New Delhi on September 12 and 13 under India’s chairship.
BRICS leaders earlier adopted the New Delhi Declaration 2026, with Modi saying the grouping was “wider in reach and stronger in purpose”.
