BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said the state government provided employment and service opportunities to 85,000 young people over the past year.
CM made the remarks while distributing appointment letters to 62 newly appointed mining inspectors at his official residence. Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Krishna Gaur was also present.
CM said Madhya Pradesh has significant mineral resources, including diamonds and coal, and stressed the importance of transparency and efficiency in the mining department. He said the new recruits were taking on an opportunity to serve society along with their government jobs.
Principal Secretary, Mineral Resources, Vivek Porwal said the state’s mineral revenue had risen from around ₹8,000-9,000 crore to ₹12,000 crore. The department plans to appoint 72 mining inspectors during 2026-27.
Porwal said 33 coal mining blocks had been allocated through auctions, with production under way in eight and development work started in six others.
Diamond exploration is continuing in two new areas of Chhatarpur, while a diamond block has been allocated in Panna. Six gold blocks have also been auctioned in Singrauli and Katni.
The newly appointed inspectors said the appointment marked a major milestone and pledged to perform their duties with dedication.
