PUNE: Three people who allegedly witnessed the events surrounding the death of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort have emerged as key witnesses in the police investigation, according to media reports.
Agarwal died on June 18 after falling from the fort near Pune. Police have alleged that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary, pushed him from the cliff. The allegations are before the court.
Pune Rural Police have filed a chargesheet citing witness statements, CCTV footage, call records, mobile data and other forensic material. Police officials said the three witnesses provided accounts that helped investigators reconstruct the alleged movements of Goyal and Chaudhary at the fort.
Investigators have also alleged that the accused used a fake Instagram account to persuade Agarwal to visit Lohagad. A third accused was also arrested over alleged involvement in the murder plan.
Police have said the investigation uncovered digital and forensic evidence supporting their theory that the killing was planned. The allegations and evidence will be tested during court proceedings.
