Barnwal’s First Transfer Order in MP

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has issued its first senior bureaucratic transfer order after Ashok Barnwal took charge as the state’s new chief secretary.

According to the order, Sukhveer Singh, Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD), has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary of the Public Health and Medical Education Department and the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department. He will also serve as Food Safety Commissioner while continuing to head the PWD.

The changes come after Barnwal assumed office as chief secretary on July 23, succeeding Anurag Jain. Before his appointment, Barnwal was handling these departments as Additional Chief Secretary.

More administrative reshuffles are expected in the coming days, with the state government likely to issue further transfer and posting orders for senior officers.

Senior IAS officer Dr Rajesh Rajora is also expected to be shifted from the state secretariat. Media reports suggest he may be appointed to another senior role, such as the Employees Selection Board, the Board of Secondary Education, the Administrative Academy, or another key administrative post. An official order is awaited.
