The Bhopal Bakrid celebrations witnessed members of the Dawoodi Bohra community coming together on Tuesday to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with religious devotion, simplicity and a message of communal harmony.
From early morning, mosques across the city saw large gatherings of worshippers dressed in traditional attire. Special prayers were offered for peace, prosperity and brotherhood in the country.
At Haidari Masjid in Aliganj and several other Bohra mosques, devotees assembled in large numbers to participate in the Eid prayers. Community members listened to religious sermons before offering collective namaz.
Bhopal Bakrid celebrations promote unity and brotherhood
Children, elders and families enthusiastically took part in the celebrations. After prayers, people greeted one another with warm embraces and exchanged Eid wishes, reflecting the spirit of unity and social harmony associated with the festival.
“The festival was celebrated peacefully and in an organised manner with the support of the administration,” said Ibrahim Ali Dawoodi, media coordinator of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
Several social gatherings and community interactions were also organised across the city, where families visited relatives and neighbours to share festive greetings and meals.
Community representatives thanked the district administration, police and municipal authorities for ensuring smooth arrangements during the celebrations.
Festival observed with simplicity
Unlike large public festivities, the Dawoodi Bohra community observed Bakrid in a simple and disciplined manner while focusing on prayer, charity and togetherness.
Religious leaders also appealed to people to strengthen mutual respect and maintain communal harmony in society.
