Bhopal Traffic Diversions Announced for Eid-ul-Adha Prayers

BHOPAL: Traffic diversions will remain in force across parts of Bhopal from 5:30 a.m. on May 28 during Eid-ul-Adha prayers at Eidgah and major mosques, police said.

Traffic movement will be affected in the Lalghati, Eidgah, Royal Market and Moti Masjid areas, with commuters advised to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

According to traffic police, worshippers heading to Eidgah may use the Bhopal Gate–Tarun Pushkar route, the Golghar–Pari Bazaar route and the VIP Guest House–TB Hospital road.

People not attending prayers have been advised to use nearby lanes and alternate roads during the morning hours.

Authorities also announced restrictions on buses and heavy vehicles. Buses travelling to and from Indore, Ujjain and Rajgarh will not be allowed to proceed from Lalghati towards Nadra Bus Stand and will instead be diverted to Halalpur Bus Stand.

Vehicles travelling from Retghat towards Moti Masjid and the Sadar Manzil–Royal Market area will be diverted through VIP Road. Traffic moving from Lalghati towards Kohefiza, Imami Gate and Peer Gate will also be routed via VIP Road.

BCLL buses and medium and heavy buses will remain prohibited on routes connecting Lalghati, Royal Market, Moti Masjid, Teen Mohra and Nadra Bus Stand.

Police said all forms of public transport, goods carriers, heavy commercial vehicles and permit vehicles would be barred from roads leading to Eidgah during prayer hours.

Authorities urged residents to begin their journeys early and comply with traffic regulations.
