BMC Clears Illegal Encroachments Across City

BHOPAL: The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) continued its anti-encroachment drive across the city on Tuesday, removing illegal structures and clearing public spaces to improve traffic flow and civic amenities.

Acting on public complaints and routine inspections, enforcement teams removed handcarts, kiosks, unauthorised sheds, advertising boards, construction material, vehicles and other items obstructing roads, footpaths and drains. The operation covered several areas, including Kolar, Shahpura, MP Nagar, Bagsewania, Bawadiya Kalan, Lalghati, Bhanpur and Bairagarh.

During the drive, officials seized five handcarts, six advertising boards and one table. Teams also removed building material from service roads and cleared other obstructions affecting public movement.

In a joint operation with the district administration, authorities demolished an illegally operated dairy unit in the Gauragaon area. Civic teams also assisted in demolishing an unauthorised portion of a house and two illegally constructed toilets in Pushpa Nagar.

Officials said the anti-encroachment campaign will continue across the city.
