Bhopal: Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, organised a Campus Connect event with Secure Meters on Tuesday to help engineering students understand industry needs, career opportunities and new technologies.
The programme, organised by the institute’s Training and Placement Cell at the Civil Auditorium, brought together industry experts, faculty members and B.Tech third and fourth-year students from different engineering branches.
Secure Meters officials delivered technical sessions on quality standards, manufacturing practices and sustainable engineering. Anil Tripathi, Manager of Operations and Quality, explained the importance of quality management systems, process improvement and global quality standards in modern manufacturing.
Shafiq Ahmed, General Manager-HR and Vice Dean of Secure Academy, spoke about net-zero goals and the growing importance of sustainability. He encouraged students to build strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
The event also featured project presentations under the Vikram Award 2026 competition. Archi Tandon of Mathematics and Data Science won the first prize of Rs 50,000 for the project “SMOD: Segmentation-Based Medical Object Detector”. Pratyush Aryan from the Electrical Engineering Department secured the second prize of Rs 25,000 for a smart distribution system optimisation project.
Training and Placement Cell Head Prof. Aruna Saxena thanked Secure Meters for its continued support and said such programmes help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry expectations while preparing students for professional careers.
