BHOPAL: The second day of Tooryanaad ’26, the annual Hindi festival of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, featured debates, cultural performances and creative competitions on Saturday, bringing students together to celebrate language, art and India’s cultural heritage.
The day began with Chhatra Sansad (Student Parliament), where students debated the “National Hindi Mandatory and Civic Integration Bill, 2026”.
Participants presented arguments for and against the motion while following parliamentary rules. Dhirendra Singh, winner of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, and Dr Raka Arya, a professor at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, judged the event.
The Khichdi competition highlighted India’s linguistic and cultural diversity by showcasing languages, traditions and customs from different states.
The evening featured Abhivyakti, with students competing in singing and dance. Kathak dancer Ragini Makkhar, winner of India’s Got Talent Season 5, judged the dance event, while Pt Harish Tiwari, a lecturer at the University of Delhi, judged singing.
The main attraction, Paridhanika, began at 6pm and presented India’s history and cultural traditions through indigenous fashion and historical themes.
The festival concludes with street plays, a treasure hunt and the All India Youth Poets’ Conference, featuring Ramayan Dhar Dwivedi, Manveer Madhur and Sunil Jogi.
