BHOPAL: A municipal corporation truck was damaged in a fire incident on a city road late on Sunday, with no injuries reported, according to local sources.
The vehicle was returning from a waste disposal site when smoke was noticed coming from the cabin area. The driver stopped the truck and, upon inspection, found flames near the lower portion of the cabin. Staff members and passers-by attempted to contain the fire using water available nearby.
The fire, however, spread to parts of the vehicle, including the front tyres, before it was eventually brought under control. The incident drew the attention of commuters and residents in the area.
Preliminary information suggests the fire may have been linked to an electrical fault, although the exact cause has not been officially confirmed. Authorities are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Information available through vehicle records indicates that the truck’s fitness certificate and insurance had expired, while permit-related details also appeared to be outdated. Independent verification from the concerned authorities is awaited.
No casualties were reported, and the extent of the damage is yet to be officially assessed. Further details are expected following an official review of the incident.
