Bhopal: Digital payments company Paytm has organised a cybercrime awareness session for police officials in Bhopal to improve coordination and support investigations into online fraud.
The interactive session was attended by around 50 officials from Bhopal Police, the Special Task Force (STF), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Cyber Cell.
The session focused on helping investigating officers understand how mobile payment systems work, identify relevant transaction details and make lawful requests for information to support cybercrime investigations.
Officials also discussed practical challenges faced during investigations and ways to improve communication between payment service providers and law enforcement agencies.
With the growing use of digital payments for everyday transactions, timely access to accurate information has become increasingly important in investigating online fraud and other cybercrime cases.
According to Paytm, the initiative is part of a wider series of awareness sessions being conducted with police forces in different Indian cities.
The company said the programme aims to strengthen cooperation between payment platforms and law enforcement agencies and improve awareness of digital payment systems among investigating officials.
