Commercial Gas Gets Cheaper Across Madhya Pradesh

Commercial LPG cylinder rates drop by up to Rs 194 in MP, bringing relief to hotels and caterers.

Commercial 19 kg LPG cylinder prices dropped across Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, giving big relief to local hotel, restaurant, and catering businesses. Public sector oil marketing companies cut the price of each commercial cylinder by Rs 190 to Rs 194 across state districts. Following this rate revision, a commercial gas cylinder in the state capital Bhopal now costs Rs 2743.

State oil companies like Indian Oil Corporation Limited update these fuel rates on the first day of every month based on international market conditions.

Rate Differences Across MP Districts

LPG rates vary across state cities due to local transport costs and regional taxes.

Most Expensive City: Rewa recorded the highest price in the state, where a commercial cylinder now costs Rs 2991.50.

Other High-Rate Districts: Commercial cylinders cost Rs 2989.50 in Singrauli and Narsinghpur, while Satna buyers will pay Rs 2989.

Cheapest District: Shajapur offers the lowest commercial cylinder rate in Madhya Pradesh at Rs 2749.50.

Big Relief for Hotel and Catering Businesses

Restaurant and hotel owners struggled with high operational costs in recent months. Due to expensive cooking gas, many eateries raised their food and catering prices by 10% to 15%. Traders state that cylinder prices spiked earlier during US–Iran geopolitical tensions, pushing rates above Rs 3300 in several cities compared to the usual Rs 1800 to Rs 2000 range.

Caterers noted that high gas rates increased the cost of a standard 500-guest food event by Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000. Business owners expect food prices to stabilize soon as fuel expenses decrease.
