Datia: Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra appealed to party workers to remain united and support BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari during a meeting in Datia on Thursday.
According to a viral video circulating on social media, Mishra told party workers that no one should fear intimidation and assured them that he would stand by them if they faced any action. He urged supporters not to direct their anger towards the BJP and instead focus on ensuring the party’s victory in the by-election.
The video shows Mishra responding to claims that Ashutosh Tiwari was responsible for his election ticket not being allotted. He dismissed the suggestion, saying decisions on party tickets are taken at a higher level and should not be blamed on the candidate.
Mishra also encouraged workers to remain committed to the party, describing it as their political family, and asked them not to allow internal differences to weaken the BJP’s campaign.
According to the viral video, Mishra also questioned the police response during recent protests, alleging that BJP workers had faced action despite being innocent. He claimed the party had evidence relating to damage during the incident and said he would continue to raise the matter with the authorities.
Later on Thursday, the BJP announced its election management committee for the Datia bypoll, with Mishra named as a key member of the campaign team.
Speaking at the same event, BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari assured party workers that he would stand with them if they faced difficulties and said he would work to protect their dignity and interests.
