According to media reports, the meeting on June 17 is believed to have been used to discuss a plan to push Agrawal from a cliff at Lohagad Fort, where he died a day later after falling into a gorge.
Investigators allege the plan was developed over several weeks and followed at least one earlier unsuccessful attempt. According to media reports, Goyal and Agrawal had visited the fort on previous occasions, and investigators are examining whether those visits were linked to the alleged plot.
Police said Goyal and Choudhary were questioned together during their custody period. A third person has also been detained for questioning after investigators found evidence suggesting his mobile phone may have been used by one of the accused on the day of the incident.
According to media reports, Goyal told investigators she had informed Agrawal that she did not wish to continue the relationship or proceed with their planned marriage. However, Agrawal allegedly continued with wedding preparations.
The case gained momentum after members of Agrawal’s family raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death. According to media reports, CCTV footage from Lohagad Fort and mobile phone records became key elements of the investigation.
Media reports said call records showed extensive communication between Goyal and Choudhary in the months leading up to the incident. Investigators are examining whether personal and relationship-related issues may have contributed to the alleged motive.
Goyal and Choudhary have been remanded in police custody as the investigation continues.
