Minister Sets Deadline For Land Acquisition, Warns Against Delays In Public Works

BHOPAL: Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge), on Tuesday directed officials to adhere strictly to timelines in execution of development projects, warning that delays in works affecting public convenience will not be tolerated.

Chairing a review meeting at the state secretariat, Ms Gaur expressed concern over delays in the proposed railway overbridge from Aashima Mall to Bawadiya Kalan. Terming the project crucial for easing traffic congestion, she instructed officials to complete land acquisition within one month and begin construction immediately thereafter, with regular monitoring to ensure progress.

The Minister also reviewed the road project from Pipalani to Khajuri Kalan and asked officials to expedite installation of transformers and ensure adequate street lighting. She directed that encroachments along the stretch be removed at the earliest to facilitate uninterrupted work. Officials informed that drainage and preliminary groundwork at the site have already been completed.

Setting a clear deadline, Ms Gaur asked officials to remove encroachments and complete alignment work by May 15 for the proposed culvert and road near the Global Skill Park. She further reviewed progress on road links connecting Sonagiri Satnami Nagar to Ayodhya Bypass and from Bagsewania police station to the HDFC Bank stretch, directing departments to accelerate execution.

Emphasising quality and transparency, Ms Gaur said infrastructure projects must be completed within stipulated timelines while maintaining standards. She underlined that the government’s priority is to ensure delivery of projects on the ground rather than limiting efforts to approvals.

The Minister also instructed officials to undertake regular field inspections, monitor progress closely and resolve bottlenecks in coordination with concerned departments. Compliance with the timelines set during the review will be assessed in subsequent meetings, officials said.
