UJJAIN: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday distributed free e-bicycles to 40 women workers in Ujjain, saying the initiative would promote women’s empowerment and provide sustainable transport amid rising fuel costs.
The bicycles were distributed to “Karmayogi” women through corporate social responsibility funds arranged by the Ujjain district administration.
Addressing a public gathering, the chief minister said the state government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was working to ensure dignity, prosperity and self-reliance for women across Madhya Pradesh.
He said rising global fuel prices had increased the need for alternative energy sources and described electric vehicles as an effective solution. He also praised the company that supplied the bicycles and congratulated the beneficiaries.
CM highlighted the state government’s Jal Ganga Samvardhan Mahabhiyan water conservation campaign, under which projects worth more than Rs 10 billion are being implemented until June 30.
He said Madhya Pradesh had secured the top position in water conservation through public participation and community involvement. He urged citizens to actively support water conservation efforts, adding that sustainable development depended on collective responsibility and environmental awareness.
