Student Dies After Fall From Building

INDORE: A 19-year-old NEET aspirant died after falling from the third floor of a residential building in Indore late on Thursday night, police said. The circumstances leading to the fall are being investigated.

According to police, the student was living with her elder sister while preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). Family members told investigators that she had appeared concerned in recent days and had been preparing for the medical entrance examination after previous unsuccessful attempts.

Police said the student was speaking to a relative on the phone shortly before the incident. Residents of the building alerted emergency services after she was found critically injured.

She was taken to a private hospital and later shifted to Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital, where she died during treatment early on Friday.

Investigators are examining her mobile phone, call records and other evidence collected from the scene. A forensic team has also inspected the location.

Police said it is too early to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and that all angles are being examined. The cause of the fall will be established after the investigation is completed.

The incident has drawn attention to the pressures faced by students preparing for competitive examinations, though officials have not linked the death to any specific factor and have urged against speculation while the probe is underway.
