BHOPAL: Trading and auction activities at agricultural produce markets across Madhya Pradesh are scheduled to remain suspended on Tuesday as trader associations observe a one-day shutdown over a recent increase in market fees.
As part of the protest, the purchase and sale of agricultural commodities, including grains, pulses and oilseeds, are expected to remain closed at the Mandsaur Agricultural Produce Market.
According to market authorities, trader bodies have informed the administration of their participation in the statewide shutdown. The protest is linked to an increase in the market fee from 1% to 1.5%.
Officials said trading operations are not expected to take place during the day and advised farmers to avoid bringing produce to the market on Tuesday to prevent inconvenience.
Farmers have been encouraged to plan deliveries on the next working day after normal operations resume.
