Indore Police Bust Fake Note Factory, Three Held

Indore: Police have busted an alleged fake currency printing unit operating from a rented room in Singapore Township after a man was caught attempting to use a counterfeit Rs 200 note at a restaurant.

The suspect allegedly tried to pay for refreshments with the fake note, prompting the restaurant staff to alert police after noticing irregularities. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of counterfeit currency with a face value of Rs 4,000.

Subsequent investigation led police to the alleged mastermind, from whose premises they seized counterfeit notes with a face value of about Rs 44,000 and a printing machine suspected to have been used in producing the fake currency. Another alleged accomplice was also arrested.

Police said the counterfeit notes were allegedly supplied for circulation in local markets.

According to investigators, the alleged mastermind had previously been arrested by the Special Task Force in a counterfeit currency case. After being released on bail, he is suspected of resuming the illegal operation.

The counterfeit notes and printing equipment have been seized, and further investigation is underway to identify other members of the network.
