MP Aims to Become India’s Top Milk Producer in Two Years: CM

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh aims to become India’s leading milk-producing state within the next two years, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Saturday.

Addressing journalists at a Diwali gathering at his official residence in Bhopal, CM said Madhya Pradesh currently ranks third among India’s milk-producing states.

He said the state government was encouraging farmers to diversify their income through dairy farming, fisheries and horticulture alongside traditional agriculture.

Milk cooperative societies are being established in village panchayats to strengthen milk collection and support dairy farmers. The government is also expanding irrigation facilities through river-linking projects and other initiatives. Farmers are being provided with 10 hours of electricity during the daytime, he added.

CM also highlighted the government’s rural property registration scheme, which aims to provide residents with legally recognised ownership documents.

On education, he said PM Excellence Colleges had been established in all 55 districts under the National Education Policy 2020. Medical colleges are also being developed in Mandla and Balaghat, with admissions expected to begin in the current academic session.

He also outlined infrastructure and tourism projects, including the Omkareshwar Corridor, Chitrakoot and Orchha developments.

The chief minister said the government was working to ensure that development reached all sections of society. He also extended Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj greetings to people across the state.
