Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) and AIIMS Bhopal have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote joint research and improve healthcare.
AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Lt Gen (Retd) Dr Narendra Kotwal and BMHRC In-charge Director Dr Manisha Srivastava signed the agreement on Tuesday.
Under the MoU, the two institutions will identify new research areas and work on joint projects. A key focus will be the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health research.
The institutions will also study non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hypertension.
The agreement will explore the use of AI in medical imaging and electronic health records (EHRs) to improve patient care. Researchers will also work on AI-based tools using pathology, radiology and other health data to support diagnosis and medical decisions.
Scientists and faculty members from both institutions will prepare joint research projects and submit proposals for funding from various agencies.
The MoU also covers seminars, workshops, conferences, student and faculty exchanges, and other scientific activities.
The partnership is expected to create new research opportunities and strengthen the use of AI in healthcare.
