Congress Launches ‘Students Ki Goonj’ Campaign With Tribute March in Bhopal

Bhopal: The Congress on Wednesday launched its ‘Students Ki Goonj’ campaign in Bhopal by organising a tribute march and candlelight vigil. The party said the event was held in memory of students whom it claimed lost their lives following the NEET paper leak controversy.

The march started from Mata Mandir Square and passed through Teen Shed Square before concluding at Roshanpura Square. Participants lit candles and observed a two-minute silence in memory of the students.

During the programme, Congress leaders called for greater transparency in the education system, a fair examination process and stronger measures to protect students’ futures. The party also announced that similar tribute marches would be organised at different locations across Bhopal in the coming days.

Addressing the gathering, AICC Secretary Kunal Choudhary said repeated allegations of irregularities in competitive examinations had weakened students’ trust in the system. He said the Congress would continue its campaign until accountability in the education system was ensured.

AICC Coordinator and NSUI National Co-incharge Anshul Trivedi said the ‘Students Ki Goonj’ campaign aims to provide a common platform for students across the country. He said the campaign seeks reforms in the examination system, greater transparency and better protection of students’ interests.

Delhi University student leader Devashish Gautam also addressed the gathering. According to the organisers, students and social media influencers from different parts of the country are expected to join the campaign in the coming days. The organisers said tribute marches would be held daily this week, covering 21 major intersections across Bhopal.

Among those present were NSUI Madhya Pradesh president Ashutosh Chouksey, District Congress Committee president Praveen Saxena, former Lok Sabha candidate Arun Shrivastava, senior Congress leader Sanjeev Saxena, along with party workers and students.
