BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said farmers in Damoh are adopting innovation and new farming methods to increase their income.
Speaking through video conference at the Balram Krishi Mahotsav on Tuesday, CM said the government’s priority is to increase farmers’ income and strengthen support from farms to markets.
Registration for paddy and jowar-bajra procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) began on September 15 and will continue until October 10.
CM urged farmers to adopt crop diversification, modern technology, horticulture, natural farming, dairy and fish farming.
About 6.72 lakh hectares are under cultivation in Damoh, with 86% of the area irrigated. The district is also promoting ashwagandha, makhana, food processing and dairy farming.
The government is also working on irrigation projects and has started organic and natural farming markets in all seven development blocks.
CM also interacted with progressive farmers during the event.
