BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Saturday announced several initiatives focused on youth, employment, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture and investment while addressing the state-level Independence Day ceremony at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal.
CM hoisted the national flag as India marked its 80th Independence Day. The ceremony began with Vande Mataram, followed by the national anthem. He inspected the parade and took the salute.
He said 2027 would be dedicated to youth welfare, with focus on education, skills, entrepreneurship, employment, start-ups, sports, arts and leadership. More than 100,000 young people will receive ITI training by next year, while 10,000 will receive skill-based training annually at the Global Skills Park.
The government aims to increase the number of start-ups in the state from 8,000 to more than 12,000 and establish 100 incubation centres. It also plans to support young people who leave education after Class 10 with skill-based training.
CM said the Global Investors Summit would be held in Bhopal in 2027. Madhya Pradesh has received investment proposals worth more than Rs 34 lakh crore over the past two and a half years, with projects worth more than Rs 10 lakh crore already grounded, he said.
In healthcare, diagnostic services are planned to become paperless from Nov. 1, 2026. The state will also recruit 1,000 doctors over the next six months and establish another medical university.
The government plans to develop metropolitan regions around Bhopal and Indore, while more than 550 electric buses are expected to operate in major cities under the PM E-Bus Sewa Yojana.
CM said the state aims to increase green energy’s share in its power capacity from 30% to 50%. The government is also targeting irrigation potential of 100 lakh hectares by 2028-29. The chief minister also highlighted women’s welfare, rural development and tourism initiatives. He said preparations for Ujjain Simhastha 2028 are progressing, while international air connectivity is being expanded.
The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, freedom fighters, public representatives, students and citizens.
