Waqf Board Celebrates 80th Independence Day, Honours Journalists

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh State Waqf Board organised its 80th Independence Day celebration at its office premises in the Taj Campus, near Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhopal, with a focus on national unity, social harmony and public welfare.

Waqf Board chairman and cabinet-rank minister Dr Sanwar Patel unfurled the national flag in the presence of Qazi-e-Shahar Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi and board member Animesh Bhargava.

Addressing the gathering, Patel said income generated from waqf properties would be directed towards welfare initiatives, including supporting the education of children in need. He said the board was working to improve the management of waqf properties and ensure that available resources are used for community welfare.

Senior journalists honoured

Senior journalists Arif Mirza, Alim Bazmi and Syed Zahid Mir, along with other journalists, were honoured with shawls and certificates of appreciation for their contribution to factual and responsible journalism.

Bilal Bhai, Qayum Pathan, Naved Ishrat, Zubair Qureshi, Akbar Khan, Abid Mumtaz, Amir Khan, Rizwan Pathan, Saqib Bhai, Shamin Khan, Salman Bhai, Saad Siddiqui, Suhail Bhai, Syed Nihal, Owais Bhai, Saind Bhai, Abdul Mueen, Tahir Khan, Shahzeb Bhai, Yusuf Bhai and Insaf Khan were also honoured.

Waqf data uploaders recognised

Officials and employees who completed 100% uploading of waqf property data on the UMEED Central Portal were also recognised during the programme.

The event highlighted the need to maintain accurate, updated and organised records of waqf properties to support better administration and management.

Qazi-e-Shahar Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi said participation from all sections of society was important for strengthening national unity, social harmony and development.

Chief Executive Officer Dr Farzana Ghazal thanked the guests, officials, employees and journalists for attending the Independence Day programme.
