In his address, Anant recalled Dhirubhai’s early life, referring to his roots in Chorwad, Gujarat, and his time working at a petrol pump in Aden. He said his grandfather’s journey demonstrated how ambition, determination and hard work could help turn modest beginnings into an extraordinary business enterprise.

Anant also highlighted his father’s vision of positioning India as a global leader. He cited Reliance’s refinery complex in Jamnagar as an example of the scale of development that could be achieved through long-term ambition and sustained effort.

He then spoke about Jio’s journey and its aim of expanding internet access across India, describing the listing as an occasion to express gratitude to the people who had contributed to the company’s growth.

Anant said the milestone was not just about the company but also about sharing its journey with the country. He compared the ringing of the stock exchange bell to a temple bell, drawing a parallel between business and worship.

Recalling the blessings and encouragement Jio had received, he said, “Jio ko pure desh ne duae di,” adding that mothers, grandmothers and friends had expressed their affection through the phrases “Jio mere laal”, “Jug jug Jio” and “Jio yaar”.

He also referred to the role of digital connectivity in helping content creators reach wider audiences and making specialist services more accessible.

Anant thanked Jio’s employees, engineers, technicians, service teams and retail partners, crediting their contributions to the company’s development. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative.

Isha Ambani paid tribute to Dhirubhai, recalling his belief that ordinary Indians should have an opportunity to participate in the country’s economic growth.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for Jio Platforms and brought the Ambani family’s business legacy into focus, linking Dhirubhai’s early ambitions with the company’s role in India’s digital economy.
