MUMBAI: Rajinikanth returns as retired jailer Muthuvel Pandian in the trailer for Jailer 2, which promises more action, familiar faces and new adversaries.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film follows Muthuvel Pandian as he faces a new threat involving a powerful group known as “Alps”. The trailer features Rajinikanth in several action sequences, along with Nelson’s trademark dry humour.
Several actors from the first film return, including Shiva Rajkumar as Narasimha, Mohanlal as Mathew and Jackie Shroff as Kamdev. Vidya Balan also appears in a new role, while SJ Suryah is seen in a prominent character.
Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq and VTV Ganesh are also part of the cast. Hrithik Roshan is reportedly expected to make an appearance.
Anirudh returns as composer, with Vijay Kartik Kannan as cinematographer and R Nirmal handling editing.
Jailer 2 is scheduled to release in cinemas on Oct. 15.
