BHOPAL: A 19-year-old man was found hanging at his home in Bhopal’s Vallabh Nagar area on Friday in an apparent case of suicide, police said.
The victim was alone at home after his mother left for work. His younger brother returned at around 1 pm and found him hanging. Police were alerted and reached the scene, but he had already died.
No suicide note was recovered. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family.
Police said preliminary enquiries indicate that the victim’s father had also died by suicide about six months ago. Family members told investigators that the young man had been under emotional distress since then and had developed alcohol dependence.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
