A Bhopal student suicide case has triggered outrage in the Ashoka Garden-Aishbagh area after the family of a 17-year-old Class 11 student alleged that two youths blackmailed her using AI-generated obscene images. The teenager died by suicide at her home on Thursday night.

According to police, the incident took place in Aishbagh. Family members staged a protest outside the police station on Friday, demanding immediate action against the accused.

Sandeep Pawar said no suicide note was recovered from the spot. Police have started recording statements of family members and are investigating the allegations made by the relatives.

Family alleges AI-generated photos used in Bhopal student suicide case

The victim lived with her family in the Aishbagh area of Bhopal. Her father reportedly runs a garment shop in Bittan Market. Family members alleged that a youth from the Chhola area and another person had been harassing the student for a long time.

According to the girl’s uncle, the accused allegedly downloaded her photographs from social media and used artificial intelligence tools to create obscene edited images. The family claimed the accused threatened to circulate the images online and used them to pressure and blackmail the teenager.

Relatives further alleged that the accused had also misbehaved with the girl’s father earlier, but the family avoided approaching police due to fear of social stigma and defamation.

Protest held outside police station after student’s death

Family members claimed the accused repeatedly pressured the student to meet them and allegedly followed her while she travelled to and from school. According to relatives, the teenager never had direct contact with the accused and the images were digitally manipulated using photographs taken from social media platforms.

The family said the student appeared normal on Thursday night. She reportedly sent her younger sister outside on a pretext before hanging herself with a scarf inside the room. Family members rushed her down after discovering her, but she had already died.

After the postmortem examination on Friday, relatives took the body to the Aishbagh police station and staged a protest demanding strict action. The family alleged that police had been informed about the names of the accused and the alleged blackmail, but immediate action was not taken.

Police said further action would depend on the statements of family members and evidence collected during the investigation.
