Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, approved projects and schemes worth more than Rs 24,500 crore at a meeting on Tuesday, according to the state government.
A key decision was to provide 20% horizontal reservation for Agniveers in recruitment for police constable, Special Armed Force, jail guard, forest guard and excise constable posts.
The Cabinet approved Rs 5,329.17 crore for continuing honorarium payments to more than 76,000 guest teachers for five years from 2026-27 to 2030-31. It also approved Rs 348.07 crore to provide uniform assistance through direct benefit transfer to students in Classes 1 to 8 in government schools.
For healthcare, Rs 3,245.80 crore was approved for construction of community, primary and sub-health centres and strengthening drug regulation and control. Revised approval of Rs 372.12 crore was given to expand Singrauli district hospital from 450 to 605 beds. The Cabinet also approved Rs 953.69 crore for the Chhindwara Institute of Medical Sciences hospital.
An amount of Rs 4,470.30 crore was approved for construction of the 105.10-km Damoh-Katni four-lane road under the Hybrid Annuity Model.
The Cabinet also approved funds for several irrigation projects in Datia, Neemuch and Sagar, along with Rs 358.22 crore for the Kanh Diversion Closed Duct Project in Ujjain ahead of Simhastha 2028.
Other decisions covered rural development, judicial infrastructure, handloom offices and revised transit fees for forest and mineral produce.
