NEET-UG 2026: Key Instructions for Candidates

BHOPAL: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued detailed instructions for candidates appearing in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026, scheduled to be held on June 21.

The agency said reporting, biometric verification and security checks at examination centres will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 1.30 p.m. Entry to centres will close at 1.30 p.m., and candidates arriving after the deadline will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

The test will be conducted from 2 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. Eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will be provided an additional 65 minutes of compensatory time.

Candidates have been instructed to carry a printed copy of their admit card, a valid photo identity card and the required photographs. All candidates will undergo frisking, biometric verification and registration before entering the examination hall.

The NTA has prohibited mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, books, notes, handbags, jewellery and other electronic items inside examination centres. Ballpoint pens required for marking answers will be provided at the venue.

Candidates have also been advised to follow the prescribed dress code and wear simple, light-coloured clothing. The agency urged candidates to verify the location of their examination centres in advance and comply with all instructions to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
