Anti-Drug Campaign to Begin in Bhopal

Bhopal Collector Priyank Mishra has announced that the “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0” anti-drug campaign will begin in schools and colleges across the district from July 15 to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

At a district coordination meeting, Mishra said the campaign will be run by the police with support from the social justice and school education departments, de-addiction centres and voluntary groups. A schedule will be prepared to organise awareness programmes for students.

He directed government colleges to form anti-drug committees and appoint nodal officers. Social media influencers will also help spread awareness among young people.

Mishra also asked the drug department to prepare a list of medical stores suspected of breaking drug rules. An online tracking system will be developed for de-addiction centres to improve the monitoring of treatment and recovery.

The meeting also discussed steps to stop the illegal sale and transport of drugs. These include better sharing of information between departments, joint investigations, regular checks of medical stores and strict action against those found breaking the law.

Training programmes will also be held for officials working on anti-drug efforts. Authorities will keep an updated list of government and private de-addiction centres and carry out regular inspections.

Collector Priyank Mishra said reducing drug abuse needs both strict action and public support. He urged all departments to work together to help make Bhopal a drug-free district.
