Chhatarpur: A man was injured in an alleged shooting following a land dispute in Konda village under the Khajuraho police station limits in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district on Tuesday. The injured man has named Shaligram Garg, the younger brother of Bageshwar Dham chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, in the incident.
According to the injured, Moti Lal Kushwaha, the dispute escalated during an argument over land, after which Shaligram Garg allegedly fired three to four rounds at him. Kushwaha sustained injuries and was rushed to the district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, Khajuraho police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Officials said they are collecting evidence and recording statements to ascertain the sequence of events.
As of the time of publication, police had not issued an official statement confirming the allegations or announced any arrests. An FIR and the exact sections invoked by the police were also not immediately known.
