Bhopal: A special photography exhibition was inaugurated at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication to mark World Photography Day.
The exhibition was organised by Aditya Kumar Chourasia, a student of the Department of Cinema Studies. Vice-Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of department head Dr Pavitra Srivastava, faculty members, students and photography enthusiasts.
The exhibition presented photography not merely as the art of taking pictures but as an effective medium for observing, understanding and documenting society, culture, development and everyday life.
The photographs highlighted major religious and tourist destinations across the country and the large number of visitors who travel to these locations every year. Through visual storytelling, the exhibition showcased the efforts made by government authorities and local administrations to provide essential facilities, manage crowds and continuously improve infrastructure for visitors.
Through Chourasia’s concept, the exhibition also explored photography as a form of visual expression, social documentation and visual storytelling.
Discussions were also held on photography quality, modern technology, visual storytelling and filmmaking. A special workshop was conducted by Lumix, where participants received information about modern camera technology, improved photography techniques, image quality and key aspects of filmmaking.
The programme highlighted the growing role of photography as a powerful tool for documenting social realities and presenting stories through visual media.
