Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai on Wednesday inaugurated a newly built garbage transfer station in Gopal Nagar, aimed at improving the city’s waste management and cleanliness system.
The facility, developed under the Swachh Bharat Mission, is the 16th garbage transfer station in Bhopal. The station will help improve waste collection, segregation and transfer operations.
During the inauguration, the mayor inspected the facility and reviewed the waste transfer process. She said the new station would strengthen the city’s waste management infrastructure.
Civic officials and local representatives attended the inauguration programme.
According to officials, waste collected from areas under municipal Zones 14 and 15 will be transported to the Gopal Nagar station through 33 waste collection vehicles.
The garbage transfer station is located near SOS Balgram on Khajuri Kala Road and is expected to support more efficient waste handling in the city.
