US Police Charge Telangana Man in Wife’s Death Case

A software engineer from Telangana has been charged with the alleged murder of his wife in the United States, nearly nine months after she was found dead inside their apartment in Washington.

Police have accused Avinash Narne of killing his wife Raajitha Sabbineni, 27, and have launched legal proceedings against him. Narne remains an accused in the case, and the allegations against him are yet to be proven in court.

Sabbineni was found dead at the couple’s apartment in Bellevue in October 2025. Police said Narne had informed them that his wife was not responding after locking herself inside the bathroom.

An autopsy later concluded that Sabbineni died due to strangulation, and authorities registered the case as a homicide.

During the investigation, police examined digital records, security data and other evidence. Officials said the apartment’s entry records did not show any other person entering the home during the period under investigation.

Police documents also mentioned Narne’s alleged contact with another woman in India. Investigators claimed the communication continued after his marriage and that he had shared a photograph related to the incident with the woman.

Court records also referred to messages between the couple in which Sabbineni had raised concerns about drinks prepared by Narne tasting unusual.

After months of investigation, Bellevue Police arrested Narne and charged him with first-degree murder. He is currently in custody, with bail set at $5 million.

The case will proceed through the US legal system, where the allegations will be examined by the court.
