BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said Monday that Anuppur district is contributing to the state’s efforts to promote millet cultivation and strengthen agricultural activities.
The CM made the remarks while virtually addressing the Balram Krishi Mahotsav held in Anuppur under the state’s Year of Farmer Welfare-2026 programme.
He said Anuppur has water resources and that the Kevai Lift Irrigation Project is expected to support irrigation in the district. The state is also working to expand irrigation capacity and promote the use of technology in agriculture, he said.
The CM urged farmers to complete registration for government procurement of Shri Anna, including jowar and bajra, as well as paddy, within the stipulated period.
He also directed officials to organise farmer chaupals to provide information about government schemes and address farmers’ concerns.
During the virtual interaction, farmers discussed modern farming techniques, mechanisation, irrigation, organic and natural farming, dairy farming and animal husbandry.
The CM also spoke about the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva for remote villages and free property registration for rural residents.
Progressive farmers and meritorious students were honoured during the event. An exhibition showcased agricultural machinery, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries and government schemes.
